I have been wanting to go Paragliding as a birthday present for myself since last May.
Can’t believe the non co-operative nature of the weather since I made this decision & put it on my list.
Firstly I tried searching for the best places & found that there are not many places in NSW to do this.
Laurieton on the North Coast & Stanwell Tops south of Sydney, just North of Wollongong are the closest places that I could find.
Am reluctant to do the Stanwell Park venue as I have already Skydived the Beach at Nth Wollongong.
Drove North in the beginning of October hoping to book in at Laurieton & I stayed overnight at a Port Macquarie pub.
I was to call the Paragliding mob the next morning to check if weather conditions would be ok.
Wouldn’t you know it – rain & then more rain as I headed towards Brisbane where it became torrential rain.
Drove back to Lennox Head for a family birthday party & it still rained.
Since then it has been nothing but rain or lousy winds spoling the opportunity to get aloft.
Never mind, it took 3 days of bad weather the previous year when I bought myself a hot air balloon flight on NZ’s South Island.
This was worth the wait – don’t take my word for it – have a look below.
